About Virtue Gaming
Virtue Gaming was founded in July of 2009 by Laurence and Cal with the idea of creating a community that was both supportive and competitive. The main goal behind Virtue Gaming was to offer a gaming environment that supported all playing styles, offered a place for members from all walks of life to socialize, and the completion of any content that any game offered -- a philosophy that continues at the heart of Virtue Gaming today. Bringing both large guild leadership experience and innovative ideas as to how to run a community, Laurence and Cal decided to make Virtue Gaming's debut in the MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game Aion produced by NCSoft.
The community found great success early and flourished, however, after a few months Aion showed that it was not the right fit for the community and so Virtue Gaming left in early January of 2010. The community then branched out into two different games; Lord of the Rings Online and Star Trek Online. Great success was found in Lord of the Rings Online as Virtue Gaming established themselves as one of the most stable kiniships on the Silverlode server. Unfortunately, Star Trek Online was also not a good fit for the community and the community left shortly after the game's release in March of 2010.
In March of 2011 Virtue Gaming moved into Rift, the first MMO produced by Trion Worlds on the Wolfsbane server. The community quickly took root and began to grow at a very rapid rate. The success of the game and the community environment caused Virtue Gaming to break the 300 member mark in the Spring of 2011. In July of 2011 Cal, Laurence, and Vipurr, the original high council, retired their positions and passed on their duties on to Razzlle and Gigglie with the comfort of knowing that the community would continue to flourish.
2012 was a busy year for Virtue. In Janurary of 2012, Cal returned to lead Virtue Gaming under its new government structure as the Rift Guild Master and helped to transition its leadership to the communities new structure. In March of 2012, Laurence expanded Virtue into a new style hybrid MMO called TERA which was developed by En Masse Entertainment. In May of 2012 with news of the new MMO Elder Scrolls Online surfacing, the community started laying the ground work to expand Virtue into the highly anticipated MMO to be released in late 2013.
Virtue Gaming is now into its fourth year as a gaming community and continues to grow as new members join daily.
